Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (FLXT) in Talks with Leading Industrial Firm for Bend Sensor® Project

Flexpoint Sensor Systems, a supplier of thin film sensing technology applicable to many industries, today announced it is in discussions with one of the world’s largest industrial firms regarding a security mat that uses Bend Sensors® to track and differentiate types of traffic flow in and out of buildings or venues.

Flexpoint said it is being represented by an experienced industry insider as it continues talks with the unnamed industrial firm.

The mat is equipped with a sensor that can differentiate between foot traffic and other moving objects, such as a dolly, and can be used for a variety of unique applications in a wide range of venues. The sensor can even determine weight measurements, such as if a person walking across the mat is carrying an unusually heavy load.

“We are excited by the prospect of entering yet another industry with our Bend Sensor technology,” Flexpoint President Clark Mower stated in the press release. “From a security standpoint, there is considerable value in developing new technologies to track and monitor foot traffic. Companies have a keen interest in staying a step ahead of the curve, and our Bend Sensor technology provides a really unique solution with this security mat.”
