netTALK.com, Inc. (NTLK) Announces Number Porting in U.S.

Yesterday, netTALK.com, Inc. announced that the company currently supports LNP, or Local Number Portability, meaning that customers changing their landline service to netTALK will be able to keep their previous phone number rather than having to setup a new one.

netTALK designs and distributes low-cost VoIP services and devices, with their netTalk DUO product being able to place calls to any telephone number in the U.S. and Canada from anywhere in the world. netTALK boasts undercutting VoIP competitor Vonage by nearly 50% while providing more products and services.

netTALK’s services can be seen as forward-thinking. The Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project has reported that 24% of adult internet users in the United States have placed an internet phone call. Pew Research has also reported that 5% of Internet users are placing VoIP calls on any given day.

Anastasios ‘Takis’ Kyriakides, president and CEO of netTALK, said, “Keeping your own number is a pivotal development for netTALK. We consistently find that the number porting feature is a non-negotiable feature that businesses and consumers want, as they are ready to fire their phone company and save money, but didn’t want to lose long-established phone numbers that they’ve invested in advertising among their friends, customers and colleagues. We trademarked ‘Fire Your Phone Company’ for a reason, and we remain committed to making it easier, more affordable and rewarding for consumers to make the switch.”

Cedric Guillory, Senior Director of Marketing at netTALK, said, “The phenomena of cord-cutting proves to be a consumer trend in its earliest stages as consumers seek financial relief and more compelling choices in the marketplace. netTALK is well-poised to gain substantial market share as we continue to expand our distribution and see further proliferation of our innovative products and offerings.”
