Marley Coffee (JAMN) Now Served As the Exclusive Coffee at Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill in Newark International Airport

Marley Coffee, provider of sustainably grown, ethically farmed and artisan roasted gourmet coffee, has reached an agreement with Golden Krust Bakery & Grill, a Caribbean food chain, to add Marley Coffee to the authentic island food choices on their menu at the Newark International Airport franchise location prior to security in Terminal A between Gates A20-28 and A30-38. The Newark airport store of Golden Krust is one of the busiest franchise locations. Additionally, Marley Coffee will soon be served in more of the 120 Golden Krust stores around the nation, starting with the Lyons Avenue location in Newark, New Jersey.

Rohan Marley started Marley Coffee with his friend Shane Whittle to fulfill the dream of his late father Bob Marley who said he would he return to farming one day. Today Marley Coffee sources beans from around world and strives to support communities and the environment through organic, sustainable and ethical practices. Kicks for Cause is a charity started by Marley Coffee to build playable soccer fields and soccer camps for children of coffee-producing communities in Jamaica.

“The origins of Golden Krust date back to the Hawthorne family bakery in St. Andrews, Jamaica, so this partnership really hits close to home for me. We hope to bring to people at Newark Airport a little oasis to escape the stress of their travels, while beginning a relationship with Golden Krust that we eagerly look to expand,” said Rohan Marley, chairman and co-founder, Marley Coffee in a press release.

Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill is both a manufacturer and distributor of Caribbean food products as well as a franchiser of Caribbean restaurants. In 1989, the Hawthorne family opened their first location in the Bronx and in seven years grew to own 17 restaurants throughout New York City. Today, the Golden Krust operates a chain of over 100 restaurants in nine states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, and Massachusetts).

“Being the first Caribbean food franchise in a major metropolitan airport, it was perfectly logical to complement our food with the iconic Marley Coffee brand,” said Lorna Romans, Golden Krust Franchise Owner in the press statement. “The unique coffee aroma and the ambiance was designed to stimulate our customers with traditional home style cooking and taste that gives them the feeling of being back in the islands.”
