AlumiFuel Power Corp., an early production stage hydrogen generation company, announced that its Portable Balloon Inflation Systems (PBIS) has generated significant interest at the recent 92nd annual American Meteorological Society (AMS) Meeting in New Orleans in January.
The AMS Meeting is the metrological field’s largest and most important weather-related conference in the U.S, with the 2012 meeting drawing more than 100 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees from around the world.
AlumiFuel’s featured product was its lift gas technology, the PBIS-2000, which is currently in final development for a first quarter 2012 delivery to the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC).
Among several other interactions, the company said the “most significant development” was a series of discussions with several major companies in the meteorological community interested in establishing partnership arrangements for the worldwide marketing and sales of the company’s PBIS products. AlumiFuel said it will provide more information to its stakeholders as these developments come to fruition.
The company reports that a handout on the PBIS-2000 was well-received by military and meteorological community customers and prospective industry partners, and that other military customers at the AMS Meeting indicated they are closely following the PBIS-2000 development. One military customer in particular expressed interest in development and testing similar to the Air Force.
The company also received positive feedback from several meteorological community companies who indicated their intent to introduce the PBIS-2000 and other PBIS products to foreign military and meteorological users around the world. AlumiFuel considers this response a confirmation of a significant foreign market for 30-45g pilot balloons, which could be served by the company’s scaled-down and less-expensive version of the PBIS-2000.
