CommerceTel Corp. (MFON) Deploys Mobile Marketing Tech for Restaurant Franchise

Yesterday, CommerceTel Corp. announced that its mobile marketing technology and services have been deployed to more than 1,600 locations by a nationwide fast food franchise. Customers of the chain will be able to receive offers and messages from the chain via SMS messaging.

CommerceTel, a provider of mobile marketing technologies, is the creator of C4, a cloud based service that is capable of providing customers with mobile communications and Customer Relationship Management features. Current clients of CommerceTel include Disney, Sony Pictures, and Verizon, as well as the golf Channel and several professional sports franchises.

The mobile marketing tech that CommerceTel has deployed with the restaurant chain will enable the company to reach a large number of customers at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising methods, such as television or online ads. Customers of the franchise voluntarily opt-in to the service, which has so far gained 280,000 subscribers. Individual franchises in the restaurant chain have reported up to a 260% return on investment since using CommerceTel’s services, with response rates to these promotions reaching as high as 60%.

Dennis Becker, CEO of CommerceTel, said, “Our patented technology is highly scalable because it is designed for large distributed operations such as national restaurant franchises. We can install and deliver our platform at the local level instantly, while connecting disparate franchise locations together under one corporate umbrella in order to coordinate franchise-wide mobile marketing campaigns. For example, a local franchise owner can run a special promotion this Tuesday at one or all of their owned-and-operated stores with a few mouse clicks and immediately start to track the results.”

“By the end of September 2011, the quick service national restaurant chain had approximately 700 locations licensing our solution,” added Becker. “By the end of the year we activated more than 1,600 locations.
