Powerwave Technologies Inc. (PWAV) Presents New 4G Inside Out Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2011

Powerwave Technologies Inc., which engages in the designing, manufacturing, marketing, and sale of wireless solutions worldwide, announced that it will be presenting its new cutting-edge 4G network products at the International CTIA Wireless 2011, which will be held in Orlando, Florida from March 22-24, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center.

The new line of products for Powerwave are being lead by Powerwave Picocell and Active Array Antenna, which are both finalists for the prestigious CTIA E-Tech Award. The company will be showing its new iCC Internet Command Combiner and an array of RF broadband site solutions for a faster and more economical deployment of 4G networks that includes signal amplifiers, signal combiners, and broadband antennas.

“The technology story of the year is 4G networks, and the competition is intense for carriers to roll out services to customers as quickly as possible,” said Ronald J. Buschur, president and CEO at Powerwave. “The fastest and most economical way to do this is by upgrading existing cell sites with equipment that can support both legacy 2G/3G while transitioning to 4G. Powerwave is taking a leadership role in delivering the products carriers need right now and into the future.”

The iCC Internet Commanded Combiner has the ability to facilitate feed line and antenna sharing from two or more 2G, 3G, or 4G radio heads, or Base Transceiver Systems (BTS). Because of its ability to be tuned remotely, it has become a major advancement from the conventional filter combiners that have more restricted flexibility in adapting a filter response because they are either fixed or manually tuned. The iCC allows for the immediate rollout of a more profitable LTE service at a lesser cost of building out new or separate BTS infrastructure for LTE services and at a fraction of the time.

Powerwave’s tower mounted amplifiers boost the coverage and the capacity for 2G/3G and LTE deployments. They come together to form a field-proven reliability with state-of the-art small size that lowers the tower load and visual impact. With this improved coverage from the TMAs, various carriers can lower the number of sites that are necessary for nationwide coverage.

Powerwave, an industry veteran in the area of antenna design innovation with over one million antennas sent out worldwide, will be presenting the company’s new dual and triple broadband antenna products that bring together 2G/3G and 4G frequency bands on to a single antenna with integrated remote electrical tilt functionality for superior performance, efficiency, and more flexibility. The company is also presenting broadband site solutions which include dual-band AWS/PCS LTE SIMO overlay combiners, LTE MIMO reconfigurable frequency and bandwidth combiners, an LTE700 crossband combiner, WiMAX/LTE 2600 crossband combiners, diplexer and triplexer, a universal crossband combiner and a micro twin 2600 LTE tower mounted amplifier.

Powerwave Technologies will be presenting at International CTIA Wireless 2011 from March 22-24 in Orlando, Florida at Booth #2459.
