GreenHouse Holdings Inc. (GRHU) Announced Partnership with Energy Connect, Inc. (ECNG) on Automated Demand Response Services

GreenHouse Holdings, Inc., a provider of energy efficient products and technologies to various markets, announced that it has partnered with EnergyConnect, Inc., a company that provides demand response services to the electricity grid. The two companies will come together and offer its customers integrated energy management and automated demand response (Auto-DR) services.

“EnergyConnect has consistently demonstrated top-notch technology innovations and applications, customer service, and uncompromising dedication to excellence in this field,” commented Rob Davis, Vice President for GreenHouse Holdings. “We are excited to be a part of EnergyConnect’s continuing efforts to deliver integrated demand response solutions to its valued customers. This strategic alliance will generate complementary synergies and we anticipate significant rewards for our respective companies and clients.”

Under the terms present in the agreement, GreenHouse will be offering its Auto-DR services to its partner Energy Connect’s customers, and EnergyConnect will be marketing its products to GreenHouse’s extensive client base. This partnership will allow both companies to expand their clientele base and offer comprehensive, integrated demand response solutions to its existing customers. The customers will receive benefit from the increased energy savings and earnings, along with higher consistency performance.
Auto-DR offers participants a technical solution to automatically lessen electricity consumption when signaled by the utility cost during the peak energy period when the demand is at its highest. This program will provide customers with complete control of actual curtailment measures that are implemented on an event-by-event basis, and will allow them to realize the significant financial benefits of the program.

“California’s investor-owned utilities are at the cutting edge when it comes to promoting Auto-DR,” said Rich Quattrini, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for EnergyConnect. “GreenHouse provides expertise in turnkey Auto-DR implementations that comply with utility requirements and qualify participants to receive significant incentives for enabling technologies. We believe this partnership will facilitate our customers’ seamless participation in demand response.”

GreenHouse is an assured and qualified service provider of Southern California Edison’s Auto-DR program, providing for site assessment, feasibility studies, project development, engineering, and the installation of enabling technologies, which includes the processing of utility documents. EnergyConnect’s integrated demand response platform allows its participants to earn capacity payments in return for agreeing to reduce or shift power consumption during times of high demand.

GreenHouse Holdings, Inc. works through its subsidiary, R Squared Contracting, Inc., to provide energy efficient products and technologies to the residential, commercial, and industrial building markets. The company also provides ethanol fuel and ethanol production technologies to corporate, government, and residential customers. The company additionally distributes E-Fuel MicroFueler, as well as ethanol production systems to produce ethanol with the use of sugar, algae or waste from distilleries and breweries. The company operates as an aquaponic, vegetable, and fish farm for residential customers, and the food and restaurant industry. GreenHouse Holdings, Inc., which was founded in 2007, is based in San Diego, California.

EnergyConnect, Inc. is a provider of demand response services to the electricity grid. Though its proprietary software as a services (SaaS) platform, the company allows industrial and commercial consumers of electricity to access demand response programs that are provided by the grid and get paid by agreeing to stand by and curtail based upon a grid event or giving response to a price signal. The company offers EventConnect, a software solution for its customers that allows for the management of their capacity programs; and FlexConnect, which is designed to let customers partake in wholesale electricity markets. The company, which was formerly known as Microfield Group, Inc., was founded in 1984 and is based in Campbell, California.
