CDC Software (CDCS) Integrates Tracking Technology with OnAsset through Strategic Partnership

CDC Software Corp., a hybrid enterprise software provider of on-premise and cloud deployments, yesterday announced its partnership with OnAsset Intelligence Inc., a leading provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless asset tracking, sensing and control solutions. Per the agreement, OnAsset will utilize CDC’s technology to provide enhanced wireless monitoring and sensor data for greater security and business intelligence during the transport of high-value freight.

“Real-time asset management is a natural extension of running a smooth supply chain,” Bruce Cameron, president of CDC Software, stated in the press release. “We believe the combination of CDC’s technology with OnAsset’s products offer companies worldwide a compelling solution on the cloud to mitigate the risks that occur during distribution between the warehouse and the final destination of products, as well as in-air visibility, which is truly a differentiator in the market.”

As part of the partnership, CDC’s technology will be integrated with OnAsset’s Vision Platform™, which will create a rapid development of new business processes that leverage data from remote wireless SENTRY™ devices and other enterprise systems.

Together, the Vision Platform and SENTRY devices provide a managed service for real-time monitoring of high-value freight during all modes of transportation including land, sea and air.

“Our managed service platform helps customers extend their global positioning system (GPS) and real-time freight security programs to further optimize their view of the supply chain by integrating new data feeds that incorporate specific business information unique to client operations,” Adam Crossno, president and CEO of OnAsset stated. “Working with CDC provides our customers with interoperability to a broad supply chain application platform.”

Real-time freight and package tracking and monitoring give customers the ability to provide quality assurance of conditions throughout the transportation process, including package integrity, chain of custody. It also results in faster reaction time if cargo is compromised or threatened.
