Universal Detection Technology (UNDT.OB) Receives “Milestone” Purchase Order from U.S. Air Force

Universal Detection Technology, a developer of monitoring and early-warning technologies for bioterrorism detection, has received a purchase order for its radiation detection equipment from the United States Air Force, reflecting the first order from the company’s listing on the GSA Schedules Contract program.

“This purchase order from the Air Force is a milestone for Universal Detection Technology, as this is the first contract received from UNDT’s listing on the GSA Schedules program,” UNDT CEO Jacques Tizabi stated in the press release. “Through our open accessibility via the GSA Schedule, we’re confident UNDT will be able to deliver the equipment and services that government procurement officers are looking for in a CBRN detection supplier.”

Through this contract program, federal, state and local government agencies with access to the GSA Schedules Contract program work directly with UNDT to determine which products and equipment they may need.

However, according to today’s press release, becoming an approved supplier under a GSA schedule is saddled with an “arduous” application process. The GSA schedule is a five-year contract that lists the prices the federal government has agreed to pay for a vendor’s commercial products and services.
