AmbiCom Holdings, Inc., a leading designer and developer of wireless products focusing on the wireless medical industry, recently announced that the company has signed an exclusive four-year manufacturing agreement with a major pharmaceutical and medical device company.
Under the terms of the agreement, AmbiCom will supply the WL54-CF Wi-Fi cards for this company’s blood glucose meters to better monitor glucose levels in patients, and are planned to be sold worldwide to hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities. If FDA approval is granted, the first shipment of units could take place as early as the third quarter of 2010.
The WL54-CF blood glucose monitoring system is designed to help improve patient care, provide critical access to data, and enhance system durability at the point of care. In addition, AmbiCom is also working with several other departments of this company to supply wireless technologies for future developments.
