e.Digital (EDIG.OB) Delivers eVU™ Touch Screen Entertainment Systems to SriLankan Airlines

e.Digital Corporation announced today that they have begun delivering their eVU in-flight entertainment systems as part of an initial eVU systems and service order from SriLankan Airlines. This brings the total of airlines that have chosen e.Digital’s portable systems to over thirty at this point.

SriLankan Airlines, the national air carrier of Sri Lanka, serves 49 destinations in 31 countries in Europe, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia and the Far East. Major destinations for SriLankan Airlines modern all Airbus fleet include London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Dubai.

The eVU portable entertainment system features a multi-language, customizable, passenger-friendly interface with an incredible 20+ hours of continuous video playback from a single battery charge. The battery features the latest in safety technologies through it removable “Smart” rechargeable high capacity battery pack. The eVU is available in 7” and 8” high resolution LCD screens with hard drive capacities of 160 to 200 gigabytes.

e.Digital Corporation is an industry leader in dedicated portable in-flight entertainment systems, but is also developing revenues through its Flash-R™ portfolio of patented flash memory-related products. Recent press releases over the last six months have announced several agreements with companies to obtain a license and release on all e.Digital foreign and domestic patent rights. Terms have not been disclosed in the press releases, but the partnered companies have agreed to pay an on-going royalty for the licensed rights or one-time payments for licenses on e.Digital’s patents for the proprietary technologies.
