Alpine Aviation, Inc., d/b/a Alpine Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpine Air Express Inc., provides air cargo transportation services in the United States. The Company operates two business divisions – the operations division and the public division. The Company’s shares trade on the OTC Bulletin Board. Founded in 1972, Alpine Aviation, Inc., d/b/a Alpine Air, has their headquarters in Provo, Utah.
Alpine Air’s operations division provides air cargo transportation services in the United States. They provide this in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. In addition to air cargo transportation, they fly charters for other cargo carriers and leases passenger aircraft to other air carriers.
Alpine Air’s public division segment provides maintenance service on aircraft owned and operated by third parties. This division also operates a First Officer training program.
In 2009, Alpine Air was successful in their attempts to renew the Montana/South Dakota/North Dakota contract with the US Postal Service. The contract began in 2009 and runs for six years through 2015. The current US Postal Service contract includes a per pound rate increase over previous contracts and a monthly fuel cost adjustment.
In addition, Alpine Air is under contract with a major US cargo carrier until 2013.
Alpine’s Flight Operations Support Sector includes U.S. based flight tracking and pilot resources. The Company has the aforementioned dedicated in-house pilot training program (link to First officer program), initial and recurrent, crew resource management and numerous facility staff. They can provide cleared aircrew resources; this is through the full gamut of initial training to deployment in an operational environment.
Alpine Air has an experienced management team. Mr. Eugene Mallette, CEO, has been with Alpine Air since 1979. Mr. Bill Distefano, General Manager, has been with the Company since 1972.
During the three months ended April 30, 2011, cargo volumes were 5 percent higher when compared to the same period last year. The Company carried 2,177 tons of cargo this quarter in 2011 compared to 2,066 tons in the same quarter in 2010.
For the six months ended April 30, 2011, Alpine Air had a net profit from operations before income taxes and preferred stock dividends of $1,821,044. This represents an increase of $195,228 from the previous year’s net income of $1,625,816.
