Premier Power Renewable Energy, Inc., a leading global provider of large and small-scale solar power systems delivering to commercial, governmental and residential customers throughout North America and Europe, recently announced that the second in a series of 1.0 megawatt (MW) solar power plants that the company designed is now operational. Constructed for customers in Italy, the solar panels have been connected to the Enel electric power grid, at a medium voltage of 20 kilovolts (kV).
The project is located in the Puglia region of southern Italy and is a part of the series of solar projects that are being developed by Premier Power Italy, S.p.A. Adopting the company’s “leave no trace” philosophy, this project makes use of an environmentally friendly racking system attached to the ground using 1 meter long steel screws, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment.
Dean R. Marks, chief executive officer of Premier Power Renewable Energy, stated, “The connection of the Monteparano solar power plant to the power grid, our second in a series of pipelined Italian projects, shows our ability to complete projects on time and as promised for our customers.”
