Endeavour International Corp. reported the results of a successful appraisal well drilled on the company’s concession in the North Sea. The company has now drilled six successful wells into the Cygnus gas field located in the offshore area of the United Kingdom.
Endeavour International Corp. said that the 44/12a-5 appraisal well produced 29 million cubic feet per day of natural gas from the Leman formation, where a 94 foot pay zone was found.
Endeavour International Corp. said that the Department of Energy and Climate Change has awarded the company further interests in the Cygnus gas field. The company received the rights to blocks 44/11b and 44/12b, which are a possible northern extension of the field.
Endeavour International Corp. estimates that based on the six appraisal wells drilled to date and seismic information, that the company’s reserves in the Cygnus gas field ranges from 0.5 to 1.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. This estimate may be revised higher once the new blocks that have been awarded are appraised.
Endeavour International Corp. holds a 12.5% interest in blocks 44/11a and 12a, where the appraisal wells have been drilled. The company holds a 17.24% interest in blocks 44/11b and 44/12b.
