Li3 Energy, Inc., a lithium exploration company, Friday announced the appointment of David G. Wahl and Antonio Ortuzar to its Board of Directors to take effect immediately.
David G. Wahl, P Eng., P.Geo., is a prominent mining professional with an extensive background, which includes international experience and mining finance. Mr. Wahl serves as President and CEO of Southampton Associates – Consulting Engineers & Geoscientists. They provide mining sector consulting and technical services to corporate clients, financial institutions and governments. He graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree of Engineer of Mines.
He has followed and reported on the exploration and development of minerals in over 60 countries. Currently, Mr. Wahl is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is also on the Board of Directors for many publicly traded mining companies. Additionally, he has acted as a technical advisor to major financial institutions, government agencies, and national legal and accounting firms. His focus over the past year has been investigating potential opportunities on the Salares of the Qinghai Plateau and the Qinghai Province in China. As of late, he has embarked on an examination of the Salares on the Puna of Argentina.
Mr. Antonio Ortuzar is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and an expert in legal matters. The areas of law that he practices include Project Finance, Securities, Telecommunications, Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets and Mining Law.
Further, Mr. Ortuzar has advised clients on international joint ventures, project finance, corporate and commercial arrangements in both mining and infrastructure. He has also acted as a business partner in many ventures in the mining sector. Additionally, he has advised on bond issues and the placement of shares on the Chilean Stock exchange and ADR on the NYSE. Mr. Ortuzar attended Universidad Gabriela Mistral in Santiago Chile and he has held the position of Assistant Professor, Economics Law at the Law-School of the Universidad Finis Terrae.
