Dana Resources, a precious and base metals exploration company with offices in the United States and Peru, recently announced the acquisition of the Locroja copper-lead-zinc project, a copper porphyry prospect covering 494 acres located in Southern Peru in the region of Huancavelica in the province of Huaytara.
Easily accessible via the Pan American South Highway, the geology of this project consists of volcanic and intrusive rocks, which present a polymetallic occurrence of silver, lead and zinc. Peru is one of the highest producing countries of precious and base metals in Latin America, holding approximately 16 percent of the world’s known mineral reserves.
Mr. Moises Rosales, chairman of Dana Resources, stated, “We are excited to announce the addition of the Locroja copper-lead-zinc project to our portfolio of precious and base metals projects in Peru.” He continued, “Locroja is situated in a prolific mining district populated with top international mining companies.”
