New Generation Biofuels Holdings, Inc. announced this morning that it has signed a full-year contract to supply Delta Chemical Corporation of Baltimore, Maryland with up to 371,000 gallons per year of renewable biofuel.
New Generation’s biofuel will supply Delta Chemical’s No. 1, Cleaver-Brooks lead boiler. According to the press release, this contract will meet approx. 50% of Delta Chemical’s annual energy consumption requirements. Deliveries will begin in the next two weeks from New Generation’s new Baltimore production facility.
“We are very pleased to announce that our first sales contract in the Baltimore area is with Delta Chemical Corporation, which has taken a positive step towards renewable and sustainable energy by electing to use our renewable biofuel to meet its energy needs,” said Cary Claiborne, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of New Generation Biofuels.
He added, “Our biofuel has demonstrated significant overall greenhouse gas emission reductions as well as local air pollution reductions including nitrogen oxide (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) compared to distillate fuel oil and this contract win will contribute to establishing our brand as an alternative to fossil fuel in the industrial heating market.”
“Working with New Generation Biofuels is important to Delta Chemical as we strive to understand alternative energy sources in the face of an uncertain future regulatory environment,” commented John Besson, President of Delta Chemical Corporation.
