Global Entertainment Corp. (GNTP.OB) Opens Two Event Centers in Texas and Missouri

Global Entertainment Corp. announced today the grand opening of its two new event centers in Allen, Texas and Independence, Missouri.

Allen, Texas is proud of their beautiful new Allen Event Center (AEC). At the official ribbon cutting ceremony this past Nov. 4, 500 spectators packed the plaza entrance to hear Mayor Stephen Terrell welcome the happy citizens of Allen and people throughout Collin County.

Terrell conveyed his and the community’s excitement, recounting the opening events, which included a winning hockey game and a Reba McEntire concert (both of which saw a packed house), and said this was all the result of “years of strategic planning” involving the deliberate, coordinated cultivation of the Allen region of North Texas as an attractive venue.

Allen City Manager Peter Vargas proclaimed it a “fantastic day”, praising this new cultural achievement for his city, which can now “provide the community with quality entertainment at a very affordable price”.

The AEC is a multi-purpose facility with an 8,600-seat capacity (6,200 with the ice rink out), located within MG Herring Group’s development known respectively as the Village at Allen and Village at Fairview, a mixed-use site encompassing some 400 acres. The AEC also has 26 luxury suites and features, VIP lounges, club and loge seating, as well as an attached Community Ice Rink some 20,000 sq. ft. in size.

President and CEO of GNTP Rick Kozuback acknowledged the “combined efforts” of MG Herring Group, the City of Allen and many other partners in helping his Company make this “dream come true”. Kozuback also stated emphatically that, without the vision and commitment of “the mayor, the members of council and the leadership of the city staff, this project would not have happened”.

Independence, Missouri is also quite proud of their new digs, and on Saturday, Nov. 7, ’09, GNTP executives joined with City of Independence officials to open the Independence Events Center (IEC). 3,000 people were on hand for the opening of this new 7,500 concert (5,800 ice rink) seat-capacity facility ideally situated at the crossroads of Interstates 70 and 470. Similar in design to the AEC, the IEC features 26 luxury suites with club and loge seating, and an attached facility, the Centerpoint Medical Center Community Ice Rink (20,000 sq. ft.).

Mayor of Independence Don Reimal expressed his excitement over this momentous occasion, and renewed his commitment to working hard to maintain the character of the IEC as a “family-oriented facility”.

Kozuback commented on the financial and logistical hurdles they had all overcome together to make this possible, remarking that this was a wonderful investment for the future of the city, the community and GNTP alike for “today and some 50 or 60 years from today”.

City Manager Robert Heacock commented on the status upgrade to a “regional destination” from a “local” one the IEC entailed, noting its ability to strike fond and lasting memories in the people who visit.

GNTP pointed out that both projects opened on time and on budget, and with these two the total number of such cultural improvements GNTP has successfully brought to communities within the U.S. comes to nine.

GNTP expressed the dedication of all its subsidiaries to the ongoing operations of these facilities, proving the viability of its turnkey solutions to municipalities throughout the country which are interested in scoring similar cultural victories by creating multi-purpose event centers.

The development of both projects was done by Global Properties I, with International Coliseums Company handling the project management services, while the two anchor tenant franchises were done by Central Hockey League. Encore Facility Management provides food service for both venues and handles day-to-day management activities, Marketing Services oversees premium seat licenses and commercial sponsorship sales, and GetTix.net handles all the ticketing services.
