Yesterday, Azure Dynamics Corp. announced that it had signed agreements with 76 auto dealerships in over 20 states across North America. These dealerships will represent and distribute Azure products such as their Transit Connect Electric and the Balance Hybrid Electric vehicles. This announcement brings the number of dealerships connected to Azure to 103.
Azure Dynamics is a developer of hybrid electric/electric components and powertrain systems for commercial vehicles, such as delivery vehicles and shuttle buses. Azure works with international clients and partners, and is also represented by a now-significant number of North American dealerships.
Azure is pursuing a channel distribution strategy that includes the new dealerships detailed in their agreements and also involves creating partnerships with various clients in related industries, such as body vendors, leasing agencies and other businesses which will sell and service Azure products. Most of the dealerships in the agreement will keep a stock of Ford Transit Connect Electric and Balance Hybrid Electric vehicles on hand as well. The new agreements place Azure’s presence in many major North American markets, including parts of Canada.
“In just seven weeks since we posted an interactive dealership location map on the product section of our website, that page has been visited more than 37,000 times,” said Mike Elwood, Azure vice president marketing. “This reflects the strong interest in the products themselves and underscores the many reasons dealerships are eager to represent Azure products in the field.”
