Aquentium Inc. recently announced distribution opportunities for its line of ozone sanitation and water purification treatment equipment for use in Mexico. Aqentium’s ozone sanitation and water treatment equipment is designed to improve the country’s food and water safety standards by preventing contamination of water, produce, seafood, meat and any other food products. Reducing the threat of contamination in the country itself is expected to improve the safety standards internationally as well.
The company said that through its non-chemical process, it can purify water and extend the shelf life of food products, while protecting from many contaminants. Ozone is generated from oxygen and is non-toxic, also making it safe for human handling.
“I believe that Aquentium has superior technology to combat e-coli, salmonella, listeria and other bacteria or viruses for both food and water that can significantly help businesses in Mexico,” Aquentium CEO Mark Taggatz stated in the press release.
Taggatz also noted that ozone is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a food additive.
Aquentium said ozone is the strongest disinfectant available, more than 3,100 times faster than chlorine in killing bacteria, and doesn’t generate harmful by-products that chlorine disinfection does. The product is completely dissolved in water and reverted back into regular oxygen within 20 minutes, leaving behind no residue.
